Army of One

Players: A 2 player game. For ages 8 and up

Objective: The objective of the game is to strategically navigate the board and retrieve the flag or kill the entire enemy.

Game Setup: Army pieces are placed starting from left to right


  • 1st row: 1st column sniper, 4th column grenade, 5th and 6th column flag, 7th column grenade, and 10th column sniper.
  • 2nd row: 2nd column long range machine gun, 5th column general, and 9th column long range machine gun.
  • 3rd row: 1st column short range machine gun, 3rd column rifle, 6th column rifle, 8th column rifle, and 10th column short range machine gun.
Game Play/Rules:

  • Winning:
    • In order to win, you must capture the flag or kill all of your opponent’s pieces.
    • You capture the flag by landing on either one of the boxes that the flag is placed. In other words, landing on either the 5th or 6th column on the first row.
  • Movement:
    • During your turn, you may move only one piece either horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally.
    • You may move your piece in the forward and backward direction.
    • Each game piece may be moved only one box per turn.
    • After moving your game piece, you have the option of shooting your opponent. You may only use one game piece to make one shot.
  • The Shooting Range of each Game Piece:
    • Grenade:
      • Grenades can shoot up to 4 boxes either horizontally or vertically from them. If the shot is a hit, any army piece either horizontally or vertically near the targeted army piece will die.
    • Sniper:
      •  Snipers can shoot up to 7 boxes (long range) either horizontally or vertically from them. They can only kill one targeted army piece.
    • Long Range Machine Gun:
      • Long range machine guns can shoot up to 5 boxes (long range) either horizontally or vertically from them. They can only kill one targeted army piece.
    • Medium Range Machine Gun:
      • Medium range machine guns can shoot up to 3 boxes (short range) either horizontally or vertically from them. They can only kill one targeted army piece.
    • Rifle:
      • Rifles can shoot up to 2 boxes (short range) either horizontally or vertically from them. They can only kill one targeted army piece.
    • General:
      • The general can shoot 1 box (short range) either horizontally or vertically from them. He/she can only kill one army piece.
      • If a player kills the general, that player is allowed to remove one of the opponent’s army piece.
  • Shooting Rules:
    • A player is only allowed to make a shot at an opponent’s army piece if that piece is within the shooting range.
    • Players are allowed to shoot a target in the forward and backward direction. In other words, you may shoot a piece either in front of you or behind you.
    • Set up the dart board about 6 feet away from your shooting position.
    • If your dart hits the yellow inner circle, which is the hit area, your shot is a hit and you have taken out your opponent’s player(s).
    • If your dart hits the outer black area, then your shot is a miss.
